Praise

"Vibrant, full-of-life characters and a mystery full of dark surprises kept me invested until the very end. I want more! Kasey Lansdale has my attention."

– Sadie Hartmann (a.k.a. Mother Horror), author of 101 Horror Books to Read Before You're Murdered & Feral & Hysterical

"Much will be made in the coming months and years of Kasey Lansdale's ability to channel the voice of her father, Champion Mojo Storyteller Joe R. Lansdale. What's much more important is all the ways that Kasey is her own writer, and that her creation, Chance Kirby, is her own woman. Chance delivers mojo without the macho, more Kinsey Millhone than Hap Collins. Her compassion and vulnerability keep the reader hooked as the twisty plot unfolds. A full cast of eccentrics makes Hopeful, Texas, a destination I can't wait to get back to."

– Lewis Shiner, author of Glimpses and Black & White

"An absolute winner! It's rare that a thriller offers up a tale with such a page-turning, edge-of-the-seat plot that also grips your heart so tightly, but First Chance does just that, and then some! There're thrills, laughs, and even a few tears. (And who doesn't just love a German shepherd named Sissy?) Bravo!"

– Jeffery Deaver, internationally bestselling author of The Bone Collector

ALA CHICAGO! Next week I'll be in Chicago attending ALA. For those of you

Next week I'll be in Chicago attending ALA. For those of you who don't know, it's the AMERICAN LIBRARY ASSOCIATION, and it can't wait to meet everyone coming in from across the US. I'm bringing swag, signing ARCS, and catching up with old friends. I'll also have a signing at 10am on Saturday the 27th. If you happen to be there, come by the BLACKSTONE PUBLISHING brother at 10am for a signed ARC and First Chance swag.

See you there!

While I know review watching is a losing game, I couldn't help but be excited about the first two that appeared for FIRST CHANCE this week.

First Chance is a gritty police procedural mystery about young women being murdered in a small Texas Town and Chance getting her first opportunity to solve a big case as PI. It deals with the topics of feminine rage and empowerment, motherhood-how it changes you and the relationships you have with your children, and found family.
This definitely kept me...

It's out there! Hello friends. It finally happened. The cover reveal

Hello friends.

It finally happened. The cover reveal went off like gangbusters and First Chance is now on Netgalley and Edelweiss for those of you who review early copies. While I haven't received an "official" review yet, I had two people write me privately who read it on netgalley and so far, so good. Crossing fingers and toes that trend can continue. So tell me, what do you think of the cover? Was it what you expected?
